🪴A Fruitful Father's Day

Happy Fruitful Friday Reader!

Is Father's Day a fun day for you?

I have a lot of friends who have lost their fathers this past year. I've been thinking about how tough this Father's Day will be for them. I lost my Dad in 2021. This is the last picture I have with him. He couldn't speak or hear his last few months of life, but He had a way of looking at me that let me know he deeply loved me. Fathers are very special people.

Our Heavenly Father

I started a new Bible study this week with my daughters. It's about prayer, and this past week, I studied the first few lines of the Lord's Prayer. How appropriate that it begins with addressing God as "Our Father who art in Heaven." That's what this week's blog is about. Little Pot wants to introduce the world to his Daddy!

Do you have a relationship with God where he feels like a "Daddy" to you? The word Abba is used for Father in the Lord's prayer, and scholars have said that Abba affectionately means "Daddy." I'll admit that I feel weird addressing "Our Father in Heaven" as "Daddy" - it doesn't seem respectful enough. However, when we see God from LIttle Pot's perspective, I can see Him as "Daddy."

Check out this week's blog, and let me know how you plan to celebrate Father's Day this weekend. Are you comfortable calling God Father and Daddy?

Fruitfully,

Happy Fruitful Friday Reader! 🌀Hurricanes It's pumpkin season, but here on the East Coast, it's also hurricane season! I know, like me, you are praying for those in the Hurricane's path. I've lived through one that left us without power for two weeks, which was hard. But, while it was hard, I remember it being a very fruitful time when neighbors and friends pulled together to share resources. Disasters always provide us with fruit-bearing opportunities. But it shouldn't take a hurricane to...

Hello Reader! It's been quite a while since our last Fruitful Friday email! I never intended to be gone that long, but I have been busy! The BIG Announcement I've spent the summer creating new editions of all the books in The Potter Series. EA Books Publishing has published paperback and E-Book versions of each. The illustrations are even better than before, and there are a few fewer words in each book. They are more precise and more manageable for young children to read. My granddaughter,...
